7 things I wish I knew before I started blogging

1. Have some moolah

Have a little saved up for the blog platform you decide on (WordPress, Wix, BlogSpot) as well as hosting and domain. You may also want some for advertising.

2. Have a name

Have a name ready. Make it unique and mean something about what you will write about.

3. Have 15 entries

Sometimes there is just not enough time to write. Have some entries ready to post over a week. Have drafts written ahead of time so not to get behind. A break in your writing could mean readers forgetting about your blog.

4. Advertise, advertise, advertise

Use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblir, Pinterest, email, Google+…Whatever you feel can reach potential readers and attract for traffic.

5. Get people involved

Tell your family and friends about your blog. Ask them to tell their family and friends. If they have something to share, like a business or talent, this would be a great way to do it.

6. Read the news

People are going to read about what’s happening. Stay up to date on the local, national, and international current events. Good and bad, never just one or tbe other.

7. Ask questions

Google is your friend. Also ask other bloggers. Don’t be afraid to ask.
